Fall 2012 Piano Recital
Ally's 2nd year to play
Abby's 4th year to play.
I am continually impressed at what great pianists' my little girls have become! They really do love it, and are good at it. Abby had a really hard piece this year, chosen by her teacher. She was nervous before the recital. I wasn't nervous at all. I knew she would do great! They played wonderfully! D and JuJu and Grandpa are always there to enjoy! Good job girls! We are so proud of you!

My big girl!
So, I am 36 years old and have 20/20 vision. I realize now that I am extremely fortunate! So in 1st grade when Abby was supposed to write her name, date and time on the top of her homework paper, and she claimed she couldn't see the clock in the kitchen, I did not believe her! Not kidding. I thought she was making it up! I can see it, and I am old! It is totally clear, of course you can see it. Those were my thoughts. So when the school had vision screening and Abby got a note sent home that she needed her vision checked, I realized maybe she actually couldn't see the clock in the kitchen!
So, long story short, last year Abby got glasses and she wore them exclusively at school. I could tell at home that her vision was getting worse, and her school exam this year confirmed that. We could also tell that she was having vision issues while playing softball. We had her wear her glasses during a few softball games, and it definitely helped. Soooo...we thought contacts might be a good solution!
Abby was really dreading her appt because she did not want her eyes dialated! I thought she was going to KILL me when there were no eye drops, but doctor putting contacts in her eyes!
Dr put them in and took them out, and then wanted Abby to put them in herself.
She did it!
So proud of you Ab!
We love you Dr. Colin! Seriously, I give my girls a hard time and say they have a crush on Dr. Colin!
So, we got home and Abby has been putting her contacts in by herself EVERYDAY!

Fall Break
Abe Martin Lodge Indoor Water Park. Not as "heated" as the parents would like, but sooo loved by all the kids involved!!!
Our little "Ranger" Coli! He HAS to wear his hat and backpack.
Night hike!
Dad letting Cart have a knife!!??
Why do boys love knives and fire!?
Girls making up a scary story during the night hike.
Dad and kids working tirelessly to make a DARN fire! The kids REALLY wanted to, and dad was trying to make that happen.
This to me is the funniest of all. The kids are NEVER allowed to jump on couches, use pillows to build stuff, or deface a couch in anyway at home! There were two pullout couches here, and as I took them apart to make our beds for that night, I gave the kids the "go ahead" to have their way with the cushions!
FORT!!

Abby's Cabbage
This post shows how behind I am. BUT...I am turning this into a book, so I want to include everything I can. Abby's 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Wolfe, had the kids participate in a cabbage growing contest. Abby brought this cabbage plant home last spring, and we put it in our garden. According to the contest rules, we harvested it, weighed it, and took pics. We submitted our entry, along with 5000 other Indiana students, but are optomistically awaiting a great result! If nothing else, Ally has Mrs. Wolfe this year, and we can try again! So, So, Proud of my girls. Love their love for school! So blessed!
